Embracing Our Origins: ‘We Are Ancestors’ Comes to Maropeng
Maropeng, the official interpretation centre for the Cradle of Humankind UNESCO World Heritage Site in collaboration with the Palaeontological Scientific Trust (PAST), is set to host a captivating theatrical film titled ‘We Are Ancestors’ from 11th to 26th May in celebration of Africa month. This thought-provoking original PAST production promises to immerse audiences in a journey highlighting the importance of embracing our shared heritage.
Taking place in the Maropeng Tumulus building, the film will be screened on Saturdays and Sundays, offering three showings at 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM. What’s even more enticing is that admission to these screenings comes at no additional cost to visitors and is included in the Maropeng ticket price, ensuring accessibility for all who are eager to partake in this unique theatrical experience. As audiences delve into the rich tapestry of human history and evolution through a tour of Maropeng followed by the ‘We Are Ancestors’ film, they are prompted to reflect on their roles as custodians of the planet and contributors to the ongoing narrative of humanity. This film can be enjoyed by the whole family.
